Ashley Ellis

Ashley is responsible for the operational management and development of ACAT.  He brings to this role a wealth of experience in supporting the financial administration of the church.  Ashley has a background in accountancy and latterly held the post of Joint Diocesan Secretary of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds.  

In his spare time, Ashley plays golf, enjoys watching most sports and travelling – especially to Florida.

Joy Spencer

Joy joined ACAT’s team in June 2017 and works part-time in the Clay Cross office. Her main role is to handle ACAT’s financial records and all associated administration.

Joy is an engineer by training, having worked in aerospace, automotive and industrial sectors for over 30 years. Both her mum & mother-in-law have been church treasurers so the work of ACAT is something for which Joy has a personal appreciation. Joy and her husband live in Chesterfield where they are part of the New Life Church family; Joy is a trustee, steward and Sunday school teacher there.

Cath Fox

Cath oversees ACAT’s training programme and annual conference. She possesses a wealth of church administration experience and was part of the Wakefield Diocese Education Team, supporting the training of school governors and head teachers. Among other roles, she has also been Team administrator for the Stewardship and Development / Parish Resources team for Leeds Diocese.

Cath lives in Wakefield and works part-time for ACAT. She has been churchwarden at St John the Baptist Church, in Wakefield, and is currently a Reader in training. Cath has been a Guides leader for more than 30 years and enjoys spending any precious free time in the outdoors.

Nick Fox's profile image

Nick Fox

Nick is the most recent addition to the ACAT team. He works part-time from home in Wakefield looking after ACAT’s members.

Nick is a member of St John the Baptist Church, in Wakefield, and has experience as a church treasurer. He brings a wealth of customer service and IT support experience.

When time allows, he enjoys being active in delivering adventurous activities in Scouting. He particularly enjoys the outdoors, especially walking and cycling.

Ben Rooth

Ben is a highly experienced communications professional who has worked for a wide variety of public, private and not-for-profit organisations. He’s currently helping ACAT with its internal and external communications on a part-time basis as the charity moves to its next phase of growth.

Peter Young's profile image

Peter Young

Peter has had a variety of treasurer and admin roles over the years including 12 years as treasurer of a large town-centre Baptist church from 2003 to 2015.
After working as a statistician in the actuarial department of an insurance company, Peter took early retirement and was subsequently appointed Finance Officer of a Baptist College.
Five years ago, he moved back to the north-east where his daughter is living with her growing family. He has recently retired from the role of Finance Officer for a large city-centre evangelical independent church.
Peter currently serves on the Finance and Audit (F&A) Committee of the Baptist Union.
He is keen to pass his knowledge to help others be more effective in their role and is currently doing this by supporting the ACAT Helpline.
