ACAT will launch some of its courses online for the first time later in 2020.
These live webinars will enable church treasurers of all denominations to train virtually regardless of where they live.
ACAT’s ever-popular course – “Being a Treasurer: The Basics” – is expected to become the first to take place online in September.
Bookings will open in mid-August with others becoming available later in the year.
ACAT Executive Officer Ashley Ellis said: “We’ve listened to feedback from our members and are acutely aware that – while concerns surrounding coronavirus endure – they’re also keen to continue training whenever possible.
“Consequently, the time’s now right for ACAT to launch virtual webinars and we’ve been working hard for several months to ensure that this move fully meets all our members’ needs.
“For clarity, we don’t intend to dispense with our highly popular ‘in-person’ courses which are held at different geographical locations nationally.
“These afford invaluable opportunity for church treasurers to meet ACAT’s team as well as fellow treasurers in person – and we’ll know when the time’s right for these to resume.
“But our virtual offering represents a truly exciting chapter in ACAT’s evolution and I’d like to thank those trainers and team members who’re ensuring this happens.”
Bookings for “Being a Treasurer: The Basics” are expected to open in mid-August. The course is expected to be divided into three ‘bite-sized’ components with each lasting around 1.5 hours.
