ACAT members have raised nearly £6,500 for their own churches in the space of just nine months.
Last April, ACAT launched a partnership with fundraising website easyfundraising to make the process of raising funds a little easier in the wake of the pandemic’s arrival.
Since then, scores of churches have signed up to make the most of easyfundrasing’s free service.
ACAT’s Executive Officer Ashley Ellis said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds without any cost to your church or your congregation.
“And I’d encourage any member who hasn’t joined easyfundraising to do so – particularly as we’re acutely aware what a difficult time this is for church finances.”
How does easyfundraising work?
It’s a really straightforward way to fundraise – many of your congregation shop online and with easyfundraising, you can turn that shopping into funds for your church.
When anyone connected to your church uses the easyfundraising website or app to shop online with 4,000 leading retailers like Amazon, eBay, John Lewis & Partners, M&S, Argos, Just Eat, Go Compare & Eden.co.uk, the retailer they shop with sends your church a free donation at no extra cost.
They don’t need to change where they shop as all the big retailers are part of this great scheme so your congregation can raise money for your church just by doing their everyday online shopping with the retailers they use anyway.
easyfundraising’s partnerships manager Roisin Lyons said: “Raising £6,429 in the space of just nine months is an excellent result – but our message is simple…
“easyfundraising is here to help churches of all denominations raise funds during this very difficult time.
“It couldn’t be easier to register – and we’re here to support and answer any questions throughout this process.”
As well as raising money through online shopping, with easyfundraising, your congregation can also choose to make a donation to your church at the click of a button. It’s quick, simple and 100% secure.
easyfundraising also works with a wide range of sustainable retailers such as Oxfam, Ethical Superstore, National Trust and lots more. This means your supporters can shop ethically and give your church a big funding boost at the same time.
