ACIE launches its first virtual conference

THE Association of Charity Independent Examiners – ACIE – is hosting its first online conference this September.
One of ACAT’s longstanding Partners in Ministry, ACIE works on behalf of those who carry out independent examination by providing support and information.
The event will take place online between 9.30am and 4pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Topics to be covered on the day include: responsible investment, Gift Aid, VAT, CIO status and working with Islamic charities.
Agreed speakers include: Javed Akhtar (CASS), Stephen Carroll (HMRC), Maureen Mallon (OSCR), Gareth Morgan (Kubernesis), Chris Smith (ACIE) and Sarah Smith (ACIE).
Farah Mendlesohn, ACIE’s Charity Accounting and Finance Development Manager, said: “The Association of Charity Independent Examiners recognises that the charity sector has been faced by its most severe challenge in decades.
“The Regulators have responded by providing guidance on the impact of Covid-19 and the Association has strived to provide support to Examiners throughout the pandemic, who in turn support the charities for whom they work.
“One of the ways we wish to do this is by offering our first virtual conference at a discounted rate for all attendees.”
The cost for member is £20 while the cost for non-members is £40.
