CAF cost of living resource hub

CAF has just released its Cost of Living hub aimed at helping you continue to support your community through the cost-of-living crisis.

They have gathered a wide range of experts to provide the resources you need to navigate the cost-of-living crisis and help your communities. From governance and planning to attracting new funding, this hub can help you gain insight and plan for uncertainty.

The impact of the cost-of-living crisis for charities is being felt on many fronts. Far more people are likely to rely on charity support; operational costs are increasing; and donations are declining as household budgets are squeezed.

With resources already stretched after two years of supporting communities through the pandemic, this combination of rising costs, increased demand and declining income is concerning for us all.

CAF’s research shows that:

  • 82% of charity leaders are worried about the cost of utilities, and 80% about managing demand for higher wages
  • 71% of charity leaders are concerned about managing an increase in demand for their services
  • In September 2022, driven by the increasing cost of living, 6% of people reduced or stopped a regular payment to charity and 9% chose not to make a one-off donation – equivalent to around 4.9 million people.

These resources are here to support you so that you can continue to support those who need it most.

You can find articles about staffing and volunteers, charity loans, operational cost pressures and more.
