This two-hour session introduces the principles, purpose, and practical structure of an effective church budget. It is designed to help treasurers and finance teams move from “budget as paperwork” to budget as a guide to shape decisions and priorities.
This course is designed for church treasurers (new and experienced), Church administrators, PCC/Trustees finance leads, Clergy involved in financial oversight. Anyone else supporting budgeting or financial planning within a church context.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of what makes an effective church budget and how to build one aligned to mission and priorities. They will also learn to forecast, plan, monitor, and communicate financial information with confidence.
This course delivers clear and practical advice tailored to churches. It covers key topics such as phishing, password management, GDPR, and safe online giving.
The course is delivered by a presenter with hands-on experience in supporting churches with digital safety. It’s a safe space to ask questions, learn the essentials, and build your church’s digital resilience.
The course is delivered through a live Zoom webinar or meeting depending on numbers. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the speakers and ask questions throughout and at the end of the session.
Participants should ideally have completed the Treasurer Basics course, as this session builds on the introductory budgeting elements covered there. A basic understanding of church income and expenditure and familiarity with last year’s accounts will help participants get the most from the course.
